From the ends of the earth I call you. I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe."

Psalm 61:2-3 NIV

Have you ever felt weak and overwhelmed in the face of circumstances?  I think the Lord allows us to sometimes reach that point so that we look more to Him.  The scripture listed above calls God our Rock!  I know of a lot of strong things, but a boulder is one of the strongest! What a comfort to know that our Lord is strong, solid, and unmovable.  The Word also says that he is our Refuge.  Perhaps we sometimes try to do to much ourselves and get ahead of God.  In this case, the Lord is still there as our sanctuary. What a comfort to know that our Lord is willing to allow us to rest in the cleff of His hand.  Finally, God is our Strong Tower.  This causes me to think about a defensible fort- a place from which battle can be done to defeat the enemy and retake what God promised. Yes, our Lord is unchangeable. He is our rest and protection.  From Him, all strength comes to do battle. What more do we need?  He is our everything!
